Job Summary
The Pega Lead Business Architect will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, working closely with the Lead System Architect and leadership to align business objectives with technical solutions. This role requires deep expertise in business analysis, requirements management, Agile delivery, and Pega-based solution design within enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, extensive experience gathering and translating business requirements, and the ability to guide teams through the full software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between Business and Technology teams, translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Partner with Business Product Owners, Stakeholders, ATCSU, Lead Business Analysts, and technical teams to gather user stories and define business requirements.
- Understand business vision and translate it into technology impacts and solution designs.
- Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation efforts.
- Capture functional software requirements and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with Product Managers and stakeholders to facilitate backlog grooming and reviews.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Lead Agile teams and processes as required throughout the project lifecycle.
- Define solution acceptance criteria and assist with functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Manage software functional requirements throughout the SDLC.
- Identify project risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies.
- Document requirements, functional designs, test cases, release notes, and training materials.
- Support configuration and deployment of enterprise-level software solutions.
- Publish software release notes and maintain product documentation.
- Develop and deliver solution and process training materials.
- Create wireframes and functional designs to support solution development.
- Lead client and stakeholder workshops related to software products and business processes.
- Mentor Business Analysts and other software development team members.
- Integrate best practices into existing processes and procedures.
- Support customer success teams and post-deployment activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 9 years of relevant professional experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in Business Analysis or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in Use Case Development.
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Pega Business Architect, including 3 years of experience post-certification.
- Active Pega Certified Business Architect (PCBA) certification.
- Strong experience managing software functional requirements throughout the SDLC.
- Extensive experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Proven experience documenting requirements, functional designs, test cases, and leading test execution.
- Experience with configuration and deployment of enterprise-level software solutions.
- Solid experience in business process modeling and change management.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- IT or technical background is a strong plus.
- 4-year college degree or equivalent technical education required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad experience working in organizations that design, develop, and deliver software solutions to customers.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale Pega implementations.
- Experience mentoring junior analysts and team members.
