Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team in the Medical Surgical and Emergency Room units during the night shift. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including vital signs, hygiene assistance, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Assist with medical procedures, medication administration, and documentation within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
- Support patients with complex needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and behavioral health challenges.
- Maintain aseptic technique during procedures like catheter care and phlebotomy to prevent infection.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care, ICU, Level I Trauma Center, or Level II Trauma Center environments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Observe and report changes in patient conditions accurately following HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts and ensure safety protocols are strictly followed.
Experience
- Prior CNA experience in hospital settings, including medical-surgical units or emergency departments.
- Critical care experience or ICU background is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring hospice or infectious disease care.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, aseptic techniques, and medication administration protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments like urgent care or outpatient clinics.
- Strong caregiving skills with experience in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities.
