About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the Hawaii accounting department, including month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Assistant Accounting Manager with Accounts Receivable oversight
- Support the Accounts Payable Manager
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with cash management
- Supervise and mentor junior accountants or accounting staff
- Support audits (internal and external) by providing necessary documentation and responses
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and relevant laws and regulations
- Monitor and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to support financial decision-making
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficient in accounting software Sage Intacct and Titanium
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling)
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CMA certification
- Experience in Construction, Federal Contracts and Sage Intacct
- Familiarity with ERP systems and automation tools
