What are the responsibilities and job description for the Climber apprentice - Clipper Tree Service position at GSI DIVERSIFIED, INC.?
Clipper Tree Service is currently accepting applications for a Apprentice Climbers. We are seeking motivated candidates who are looking to grow in the industry with a passion for tree climbing.
The program is intended for climbers with minimal to no experience performing tree pruning and small removals. We do expect this candidate to have industry experience and familiarity with the following;
- 3 years industry experience
- Familiarity with safe climbing techniques
- Identification of climbing equipment
- Knowledge of climbing knots
- Rope installation and tying-in
- Isolating a throw line
- Familiarity with safe climbing techniques
- Techniques for lowering with control lines
- Rigging forces and hazards
- Basic understanding of ANSI A300 Standard
- Familiarity with ANSI Z133 Safety Standards
- Class E preferred
Responsibilities for the job include but are not limited to;
- Provides support for the other crew members by preparing and securing ropes, limbs, equipment and persons from aloft
- Drive large trucks and trailers
- Properly maintain, prepare and operate those tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more
- Cutting, chipping and loading brush and wood and proper job site cleanup – we leave every jobsite organized and tidy
- Assist climber in roping/rigging operations until you are ready to run a jobsite
