Senior Project Manager – Electrical Construction – Phoenix, AZ
Gryphon Oakwood is partnering with a leading electrical contractor to appoint a Senior Project Manager within its Phoenix operation. The position will take ownership of major electrical construction projects across the mission-critical and data center markets, coordinating project teams and driving successful delivery against commercial, schedule, safety, and quality objectives. Working alongside senior operations and field leadership, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining control of project costs, schedules, procurement, labor planning, and client communication.
This is an opportunity for an established electrical Project Manager to take ownership of technically demanding projects while joining a contractor with a growing presence across the Phoenix market.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of complex electrical construction projects, managing delivery from initial planning through turnover and final completion
- Control project budgets, forecasts, cost projections, billing, change orders, and overall financial performance
- Build project schedules and monitor key milestones, identifying potential delays and implementing recovery plans where required
- Partner with Superintendents and field leadership to coordinate manpower, installation sequencing, productivity, and site requirements
- Manage procurement activities, including major equipment packages, material requirements, subcontractors, and long-lead items
- Coordinate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, contracts, change events, and progress reporting
- Lead project meetings and maintain regular communication with clients, general contractors, design teams, and key stakeholders
- Coordinate closely with estimating, engineering, BIM/VDC, safety, quality, procurement, and commissioning functions
- Provide direction and mentorship to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project staff
- Drive projects through testing, commissioning, turnover, and closeout while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience progressing through electrical construction project management roles
- Demonstrated experience managing significant mission-critical, commercial or complex commercial electrical projects
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, forecasts, cost reporting, change orders, and margin performance
- Experience with construction scheduling, manpower planning, procurement, subcontract management, and project controls
- Ability to work effectively with field leadership and coordinate large project teams across multiple disciplines
- Located in or open to relocation to Phoenix, Arizona
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
