What you will be doing:
As a key part of the Manufacturing Operations team, you'll create impact by producing precision-machined components that directly support Grundfos's mission to pioneer solutions to the world's water and climate challenges.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Perform job assignments on manual and CNC machines including lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and other standard shop equipment
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of operations
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials; measure and mark reference points for machining
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments
- Set up CNC lathes and mills, producing products with minimal program adjustments while maintaining close tolerances
- Deburr finished parts and ensure quality before advancing them to the next production stage
What makes you a great fit:
Above all, you are a detail-oriented machinist with strong blueprint reading skills, proficiency in precision measuring instruments, and the ability to hold close tolerances across multiple machine types. We would also imagine that you have:
- Proficiency operating manual machines (lathes, mills, grinders) and CNC machines with demonstrated ability to hold close tolerances
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficient use of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers (ID/OD), depth gauges, and indicators
- Advanced math skills including geometry and algebra for material fabrication calculations
- Have experience running multiple machines simultaneously
- Are proficient tooling knowledge with ability to select appropriate metal cutting tools for various applications
- Have prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
