The client-facing Project Coordinator serves Growth Operators’ clients by supporting and coordinating complex business projects and strategic initiatives. Services are provided in the form of advisory services (specific projects) and outsourced services (interim or fractional roles with clients). Client relationships are overseen by the Client Relationship Manager, a Partner or Managing Director of the company. Role
The client-facing Project Coordinator serves Growth Operators’ clients by supporting and coordinating complex business projects and strategic initiatives. Services are provided in the form of advisory services (specific projects) and outsourced services (interim or fractional roles with clients). Client relationships are overseen by the Client Relationship Manager, a Partner or Managing Director of the company. Work performed by the Project Coordinator on client engagements may include the following:
- Support and coordinate cross-functional transformation projects under the guidance of a senior project lead
- Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, timelines, and milestone trackers
- Coordinate communications and follow-ups with client stakeholders and internal team members
- Help prepare project status updates, meeting materials, and documentation
- Track project risks, action items, and dependencies; escalate issues as needed
- Support alignment across workstreams by keeping tasks organized and on schedule
- Assist with coordination of strategic initiatives and organizational change efforts
- Monitor and report on project progress, resource needs, and deliverable status
- Identify opportunities to add value and improve processes on client engagements
- Capture meeting notes, decisions, and lessons learned
- Various ad hoc project coordination tasks to drive growth at our clients
Required Qualifications And Core Competencies
- 1-2 years of experience in project coordination, operations, finance, or customer success, with exposure to coordinating or supporting business projects or initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, or a related field
- Exposure to complex business projects or cross-functional initiatives — experience being part of a project team is strongly valued
- Strong business acumen and intellectual curiosity; ability to quickly understand client environments and ask the right questions
- Clear, professional communication skills; comfortable engaging with stakeholders at various levels of an organization
- Ability to support and maintain project plans, trackers, and status reports to keep work moving forward
- Highly motivated and eager to learn — an ambitious, growth-oriented mindset with a genuine drive to advance into a project management career
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with clients and internal team
- Enjoy working with multiple clients in a variety of industries
- Must be able to spend substantial time in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN area for onsite client work as needed
- Background in operations, finance, or customer success with exposure to project-based work
- Experience coordinating or supporting projects or initiatives in a structured business environment
- Prior experience in consulting, contract work, or client-facing roles
- Familiarity with project management tools or methodologies (e.g., project plans, task trackers, PMO processes)
- Experience working with or supporting private equity-backed companies
- This is a full-time position with some flexibility regarding work schedule and location.
- FLSA Status: Exempt
- The work is performed on-site at client locations, remotely from home, and at Growth Operators’ office in downtown Minneapolis.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day; some out-of-town and overnight travel is expected.
