Child Care Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Care Assistant to support the care and development of children in our program. The ideal candidate will work closely with children, helping to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring children's safety, and supporting their individual needs. A key responsibility includes driving the van to transport after-school children, ensuring timely and safe arrivals and departures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising children during various activities to promote their social, emotional, and physical development.
- Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Drive the van to transport children from school & maintaining punctuality and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members regarding children's needs and progress.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning and play.
- Support children with their daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and personal hygiene as needed.
Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for van transportation duties.
- Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in child development.
- Ability to follow safety procedures diligently.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the childcare environment.
- Basic knowledge of child health and safety regulations.
