Child Care Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities

• Support classroom activities by assisting with lesson plans focused on childhood development, early education, and social-emotional learning.
• Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and proper behavior management.
• Implement child supervision strategies aligned with best practices in early childhood education and daycare center standards.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and daily needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes learning and safety for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
• Assist in administering first aid or pediatric first aid when necessary, following mandated reporting laws and safety protocols.
• Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and supporting individual needs of children with disabilities or special education requirements.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, or similar settings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development instruction, behavior management techniques, and early childhood education principles.
• Certification in first aid and CPR (Childhood First Aid preferred), with willingness to update certifications as required.
• Experience working with children with disabilities or special education needs is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration.
• Ability to manage classroom activities effectively while maintaining a safe environment for infants through preschool-aged children.
• Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
