Long-term General Education Paraeducator

Groveton Elementary is looking for a Long term Substitute Paraeducator for the 26-27 School year. The staff member must be Level II certified via the Department of Education. This position requires the individual to focus on the needs of the students within the classroom setting, as well as, to support the classroom teacher. For instance, this individual may be provided directives from a classroom teacher that outlines what he or she is to engage in during that day’s instruction (i.e. small reading group, math support group, etc.). Additionally, this individual is responsible for implementing and supporting the accommodations outlined in the children’s education plans that are enrolled in that classroom environment. This individual will collaborate with all educators and/or instructors located within the children’s programming. Additionally, this individual is directly supervised by the general educators and administration to ensure that all aspects of the children's’ educational programming are being met. Key factors: various students throughout the day (depends on classroom assignment(s)) behavior support academic support daily functioning, if needed carry over services of academic services, if needed and/or requested by the teacher(s) cuing, prompting, redirecting, guiding, etc. implementation of accommodations, modifications, and/or supporting the implementation of such, as needed and/or when prompted to by the classroom teacher. executive functioning support teacher support (i.e. lesson implementation, support with proctoring assessments, etc.) supporting all students’ social needs/skills helping to cultivate a positive classroom environment/experience for all students
