Overview
Group Six Technologies in Conroe, Texas is growing. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laser Cladding Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining robotically controlled lasers for the purpose of cladding new and used parts from across various industries, ensuring quality control, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our production processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Duties
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and output.
- Conduct routine maintenance as per the preventative maintenance schedule and perform troubleshooting on equipment when required to minimize downtime.
- Perform quality checks on products to ensure they comply with customers specifications.
- Maintain regular, clear communication with the off-site Group Six tech support personnel.
- Use the ERP system appropriately to ensure all required data inputs and outputs are fulfilled.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance production efficiency.
- Attend training, internal & external, when required.
- Assist the Operations Manager in all tasks relating to production, maintenance, and general housekeeping
Qualifications
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing or related field.
- Robotic operation & programming experience
- Experience with Photonics
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Electrical and /or Instrumentation skills/experience
- Experience working with CNC machines
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Familiar with welding and heat treating processes.
- Forklift & Overhead crane experience/certified
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience working within a QMS
- ERP experience, Proshop experience is a plus
Required:
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or shop environment is necessary.
- Motivated and willing to learn
- Excellent communication skills
- Competent with basic math
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Physically fit and able to lift 50lbs
- Ability to read & interpret drawings
- Able to correctly operate and read basic measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers etc.)
