WELDING OPERATOR, WELD OVERLAYS (CLADDING)

Overview

Superior Cladding is expanding and needs more welding operators in Houston, Texas. This is onsite work, specializing in GTAW-P Hotwire (Tig) cladding and weld overlay. Superior Cladding is looking for new team members that take extreme ownership of their work and take pride in their quality. New team members will be part of a fast paced, high mix, low volume manufacturing environment, regularly working alongside customers, engineers and 3d party witnesses.

Superior Cladding is a fabrication company in Houston TX that specializes in weld overlays and high-pressure piping. SCP uses Arc Specialties ARC-5 cladding equipment, primarily for corrosion resistant overlay, hard facing overlay, buttering and more. Superior Cladding has been in business since 2012.

Key Responsibilities for Welding Operators

·        Weld overlays and cladding on pipe, fittings, and pressure components, via GTAW-Pulsed Hotwire (ARC-5 Cladding machines)

·        Set up, adjust, and monitor cladding machines to meet demanding quality standards

·        Regularly grinding welds to ensure quality

·        Reading and understanding weld prints, drawings and manufacturing instructions

·        Inspect and verify weld quality throughout the manufacturing process

·        Follow welding procedure specifications (WPS’s) and work within their qualifications

·        Maintain equipment and ensure safe working conditions

Requirements

·        Ability to communicate and work effectively with fellow team members, customers and 3rd parties

·        Able to read and follow weld procedures, work instructions, drawings, prints and weld symbols

·        Able to move things by hand, crane, and forklift as needed

·        Ability to work 40 hours per week with overtime

Preferred

·        Experience with ARC Specialties / semi-automated cladding systems

·        Have 1 year experience in GTAW-P welding, overlays and/or cladding operations
