Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling to meet each pet’s specific needs and owner preferences
- Handle dogs & cats safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Assess each pets coat condition, skin health, and temperament to determine appropriate grooming treatments
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools, workstations, and bathing areas in compliance with health standards
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about grooming options and pet care tips
- Assist with pet handling during appointments, ensuring a gentle approach that minimizes stress for animals of all temperaments
- Support additional animal care duties such as basic veterinary assistance or kennel management when needed
Experience
- Prior dog handling experience or pet grooming background is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a strong plus
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods, pet sitting, or kennel operations enhances your suitability for this role
- Experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, veterinary technician roles, or as veterinary assistants provides valuable insight into animal health needs
- Demonstrated ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for grooming large or active dogs
- Excellent customer service skills combined with a genuine love for animals are essential for success in this energetic position
