What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secondary History Teacher position at Groom ISD?
Seeking a dedicated Secondary History Teacher to join our school community in Groom. This full-time position will teach secondary social studies courses in alignment with Texas TEKS standards and will focus on helping students develop critical thinking, writing, research, and civic understanding skills through engaging instruction in subjects such as U.S. History, World History, Government, Economics, and Texas History. The ideal candidate will create a positive and structured classroom environment, communicate effectively with students and parents, integrate technology and instructional best practices into daily lessons, and collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and possess a valid Texas teaching certification in Social Studies/History or be eligible to obtain certification. Experience teaching middle or high school history courses, as well as coaching or UIL sponsorship experience, is preferred.
