Roles & Responsibilities
- Configuring and maintaining the networked computer system, including hardware, system software, and applications.
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise.
- Replacing and upgrading defective or outdated components when necessary.
- Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely.
- Researching and recommending new approaches to improve the networked computer system.
- Providing technical support when requested.
- Documenting any processes which employees need to follow to successfully work within our computing system.
- Assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems.
- Installing or upgrading Windows systems and servers.
- Providing technical support for staff and back-end system users.
- Troubleshooting system and server errors.
- Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors.
- Monitoring and updating the Windows codebase.
- Managing user access.
- Manages small to large sized projects according to agree upon budgets and schedules
- Assists with technology planning through ongoing research
- Experience managing VMware vSphere infrastructure and Omnissa Horizon VDI environments including NVidia GPU's
- Skilled in administration of Connection Servers, App Volumes, DEM, instant clone pools, and Windows 11 24H2 golden images.
- Experienced supporting Enterprise Virtual Desktop deployments, performance optimization, patch management, and end-user computing solutions.
- Proficient with various thin client management
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
- Proven work experience as a Windows Administrator is preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance.
- Ability to create scripts in PowerShell, Python, and similar languages.
- Experience with databases, patch management, and networks including LAN and WAN.
- Familiarity with modern operating systems and server platforms.
- Knowledge of network security systems, intrusion detection systems, and data backup.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- The ability to problem-solve alone and in a team environment
- The ability to remain flexible with assignment priorities
