POSITION SUMMARY-Based out of Pensacola, FL.
The Plumbing Division Manager provides overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational performance for the plumbing division. This role oversees project execution, workforce management, financial performance, client relationships, and safety compliance to ensure the successful delivery of commercial and/or industrial plumbing projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Strategy
• Develop and implement departmental goals aligned with company objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop project managers, estimators, foremen, and field personnel.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Operations Management
• Oversee all plumbing projects from pre-construction through closeout.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Coordinate with operations team on staffing levels, resource allocation, and workforce planning.
• Review project schedules, manpower projections, and productivity metrics.
Financial Oversight
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and P&L performance.
• Monitor job costs, labor productivity, and material expenditures.
• Participate in bid review, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations.
• Identify opportunities to improve margins and reduce costs.
Estimating & Preconstruction
• Collaborate with estimating team on major bids and proposals.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and scope requirements.
• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
Client & Business Development
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, and vendors.
• Support business development efforts and identify new project opportunities.
• Serve as an escalation point for client concerns and project issues.
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure strict adherence to OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and local building codes.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across all job sites.
• Oversee quality control and compliance with industry standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of plumbing construction experience.
• At least 5 years in a leadership or management role within mechanical contracting.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and construction practices.
• Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master Plumber License preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification strongly preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Ability to visit active job sites and work in construction environments.
• Occasional lifting, standing, and walking on uneven surfaces.
• Combination of office and field-based work.
