PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting production efficiency. The Lead Technician provides direction to maintenance team members, prioritizes work, and promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Coordination
- Lead, mentor, and support maintenance technicians in daily activities
- Assign and prioritize work orders to meet production and maintenance needs
- Serve as acting point person in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems)
- Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Operational Excellence
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime
- Utilize lean manufacturing and maintenance best practices (e.g., TPM, 5S)
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Preventive Maintenance & Systems
- Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance (PM) schedules
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS or other systems
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve equipment issues
- Communicate maintenance priorities, downtime, and improvement initiatives
- Support new equipment installations and process improvements
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and OSHA standards
- Ensure safe work practices are followed by all team members
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (technical degree or certification preferred)
- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Proven leadership or lead experience
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs., on a regular basis and work in a physically demanding environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in steel or heavy manufacturing environments
- PLC troubleshooting experience
- Certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, or related field
- Experience with lean manufacturing, TPM, or continuous improvement initiatives

COMPENSATION:
· Competitive Hourly Pay - based on experience and shift.
· Overtime will be required.
