Immigration Litigation Paralegal
The Immigration Litigation Paralegal supports attorneys in all aspects of immigration litigation, with a focus on removal defense, federal court matters, and administrative appeals. The paralegal will manage case files, draft pleadings and motions, communicate with clients, and coordinate with courts, agencies, and opposing counsel. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced law firm environment.

Key Responsibilities
Case Management
• Maintain and organize litigation case files (EOIR, BIA, USCIS, and federal courts).
• Track deadlines for filings, hearings, and court appearances.
• Coordinate with interpreters, expert witnesses, and co-counsel as needed.
Legal Support
• Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, exhibits, and supporting documents for EOIR, BIA, and federal court cases.
• Prepare evidence packets, indexes, and citations for submission.
• Assist attorneys with trial/hearing preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit binders.
• Research country conditions, statutes, regulations, and case law.
Client Interaction
• Conduct intake interviews and gather facts, documents, and declarations.
• Maintain regular communication with clients to update them on case status.
• Prepare clients for hearings and depositions, including logistics and expectations.
Administrative Support
• File documents with EOIR (both paper and electronic EOIR eRegistry/eFile).
• Manage deadlines using case management software (e.g., PracticePanther, Clio, LawLogix).
• Monitor and log billing time, tasks, and expenses accurately.

Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years as a paralegal in immigration or litigation practice.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with EOIR, BIA, USCIS, and federal court procedures; knowledge of asylum, cancellation, waivers, and appeals.
• Skills:
• Strong legal writing and drafting skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Adobe, and immigration case management software.
• Fluency in Spanish or another second language strongly preferred.
