SUMMARY

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for running the entire payroll process within the company, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality. The Payroll Manager will work closely with Human Resources, Finance/Accounting, Operations and other departments to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Timely and accurately process the payroll for all employees, ensuring that salaries, bonuses, overtime, and deductions are correct.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, tax laws, and company policies. Stay up to date on changes to payroll regulations including new state specific regulations.

• Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee compensation, tax withholdings, and deductions.

• Prepare payroll tax reporting, including the timely submission of federal, state, and local tax payments and filings.

• Reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and concerns regarding payroll, deductions, and tax issues.

• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline payroll procedures and to enhance accuracy.

• Quarterly/Annual systems reporting and compliance audits.

• May perform other responsibilities as assigned based on business needs and shifting company priorities.

OUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or previous experience in lieu of).

• At least 5 years of payroll processing experience.

• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, benefit administration and payroll best practices.

• Proficiency In UKG payroll software preferred but not required.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

• Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred but not required.

• Strong ability to troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
