The Opportunity…
The GRID Alternatives North Valley Outreach Coordinator is responsible for marketing, outreach, homeowner assistance, program education, project management, and training
in support of the regional Outreach Department teams’ goals and community impact.
  • Collaborate with the Co-Managers and the Outreach team to create and implement an outreach strategy to meet/exceed goals for the number of community members served
  • Responsible for all aspects of the client application process including marketing, outreach in target communities, as well as, identifying, pre-screening, conducting application site visits, walking through the application, collecting supporting documentation, and providing excellent client services
  • Educate homeowners on the benefits of solar, clean mobility and/or storage as appropriate, perform energy audits and deliver client training sessions
  • Identify, build, and maintain partnerships with affordable housing developers, local government agencies, community-based organizations, and others to identify, engage, and serve low-income clients more effectively
  • Increase community awareness and acceptance of GRID Alternatives’ work and mission, including attending and presenting at community meetings and events
  • Assist in onboarding and training of new staff
  • Other duties as assigned

What you need to bring to this role…
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (verbal/written, ability to meet with partner organizations, speak to groups about GRID Alternatives’ work, educate low-income families about our services, be a positive GRID Alternatives representative in the community)
  • Experience/comfort working and communicating with diverse populations
  • Comfortable working, both, independently and as part of a team, willing to pitch in as needed
  • Possess strong skills in GSuite, Customer Relationship Database, and Microsoft Teams
  • Highly organized, attention to detail and follow-through, flexible, and willing to embrace change, go the extra mile, and bring ideas and energy to a rapidly growing organization
  • Available to work on evenings and weekends and some travel overnight required
  • Must be able to successfully register and maintain a Home Improvement Salesperson registration with the Contractors State License Board
  • Passion for environmental justice and working with low-income communities, renewable energy, sustainability, affordable housing, the environment, or just generally grounded in making the world a better place

  • Hired CA candidates must be able to pass a screening for drugs that are illegal in the state of California, including: amphetamine, cocaine metabolite, opiates, and PCP.

It would be great if you also had…
  • Outreach, marketing, and/or social services experience especially in Stockton, CA
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Tagalog, or other)
  • Work experience in non-profit direct client services or a parallel field in the non-profit or private sector
  • Knowledge and/or experience in energy efficiency, solar energy, Salesforce, ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite software, graphic design, multimedia, social media, sales and/or marketing a plus

Where you will sit & the places you may go…
This is a hybrid position. While this position is based out of our North Valley office in Sacramento, the in-person work will be mostly in the San Joaquin area. We are looking to hire someone located in the San Joaquin area who is able to both work remotely from home as well as meet with clients and attend events in-person -mostly in the San Joaquin area - and attend staff meetings/events in-person at our North Valley office in Sacramento or other locations as required. This position may require up to 25% out- of-town travel to regional offices and special projects. Availability to work nights and weekends may rarely be required.

GRID Alternatives provides vehicles for work travel, and we may also require limited personal vehicle use. In the latter instance, GRID will provide travel reimbursement for work- related personal vehicle use in accordance with our payroll schedule. Additionally, all applicants will need a valid driver’s license and good driving record to be considered.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay commensurate with experience within the pay range of ($24.49 - $34.57 per hour), plus the benefits listed below.
