Director of Advancement

Hudson Valley, NY not-for-profit organization seeking a dynamic leader to oversee and drive all fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This role shapes the organization’s development strategy, strengthens donor relationships, and elevates visibility across the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy and manage the annual fundraising budget in partnership with the CEO and Board leadership.
• Events & Public Relations: Plan and deliver high-impact fundraising events while leading advertising, PR, and media outreach to grow awareness and engagement.
• Grant Strategy: Build and manage a robust grant pipeline, including research, proposal development, submission, tracking, and reporting.
• Donor & Partner Engagement: Cultivate relationships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors; oversee donor stewardship; and implement a major gifts strategy.
• Digital Engagement: Lead social media and website efforts to support donor acquisition, retention, and overall fundraising goals.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and develop small staff in the department.

Requirements

• Strong skills in event planning, events management, budgeting, and digital marketing strategies.
• Proven experience in nonprofit management with a focus on fundraising, marketing, or communication roles.
• Expertise in CRM software systems.
• Demonstrated ability in proposal writing for grants and sponsorships.
• Excellent negotiation skills coupled with experience in research to identify new funding opportunities.
• Familiarity with social media management platforms and data collection methods essential for effective outreach campaigns.

Salary : $87,500
