What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Co-Teacher position at Gresham Heights Learning Center?

Gresham Childcare Center is looking for a certified infant teacher who is dependable, creative, and nurturing!

The teacher is the main point of contact between parent and child. They are responsible for maintaining professional relationships with staff and parents, adherent to all state guidelines, and the growth and development of their students.

Teachers must be patient, have strong classroom management skills, show initiative, be well organized, be enthusiastic, a good communicator and willing to work in a team environment.

Qualified candidates must either have or obtain the following:

At least 1 year experience teaching in a certified childcare center or

Completion of at least 20 credits (semester system) or 30 credits (quarter system) in early childhood education or child development

Be enrolled in the Oregon Criminal Registry

Obtain your Abuse/Neglect and Awareness Certificate

Food Handler’s Card (within 30 days of hire)

CPR/First Aid (within 30 days of hire)

Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety Training (within 30 days of hire)

An ideal candidate has the following:

  • Strong communication skills both with parents and students
  • A positive and persistent attitude
  • Flexibility
  • Strong knowledge of care for age groups
  • Flexibility to work with all age groups (6 weeks to 12 years)
  • Comfort and familiarity with developing and implementing curriculum

Qualified applicants must have a genuine love for teaching and caring for children.

Applicants must include a brief cover letter and resume in order to be considered.

Starting pay is DOE

Must be available to work between 6am-6pm Monday-Friday.

Flexibility is a MUST.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
