Job Description
- Wiring and troubleshooting of electrical systems for material handling equipment in an industrial environment
- Use strong understanding of automation systems (sensors, actuators, motors, etc.)
- Carry out on-site installations, troubleshooting and modifications of industrial automation controls equipment
- Support design and engineering teams with equipment commissioning activities
- Must have a very strong understanding of control circuits
- Must be able to wire 24Vdc up to 480Vac equipment
- Operate hand tools, small, powered equipment, and other shop equipment (voltmeters, drills, screw drivers, wrenches)
- Illustrate strong knowledge of electrical safety practices
- Work closely together with mechanical installers and electrical engineers
- Manage contractors at customer sites
- Develop technical reports and documentation
- English is the company preferred language, German language skills are a plus
Requirements:
- High school diploma, technical degree desired
- 2-5 years of experience as an Electrician or Electronic Technician in a manufacturing environment
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Flexibility at times to travel up to 50% mainly throughout the United States but occasionally internationally
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team
- VFD and PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus
- Good computer skills in MS Office (Winword, Excel)
