Duties
- Prepare and assemble pizza dough, sauces, toppings, and cheeses according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and slicing tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling guidelines to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to produce perfectly cooked pizzas with consistent quality
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new pizza varieties or toppings based on customer preferences and current trends
- Ensure all food production meets high standards of taste, presentation, and freshness
- Support other kitchen staff during busy periods by assisting with food preparation, grilling, braising, poaching, or other culinary tasks as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation within the food industry or restaurant environment, especially in pizza or fine dining settings
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Experience with high-volume production and recipe adherence under time constraints
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent understanding of food handling, cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Prior experience in catering or serving is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for culinary creativity is essential
