What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Technician I position at Greiner Bio-One Americas?
Your challenge
- Inspect, maintain, and repair general building infrastructure and grounds.Assist in achieving machine/equipment output, efficiency, and availability goals.
- Support the installation of new equipment under the guidance of senior technicians and engineers.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance of machines/equipment according to procedures.
- Manage and maintain inventory of necessary spare parts, reordering as needed.
- Identify and suggest improvements for facility operations and efficiency.
- Complete assigned tasks and small projects in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the shop and floor areas..
- Follow all safety and hygiene guidelines in accordance with company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Must have sufficient communication, writing, and general housekeeping skills.
- Must have understanding of Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Must be capable of reading blue prints, schematics, and other technical documents
- Must be capable of using multimeter, hand tools, power tools, shop tools drill press, saws, welders, torches, etc..
- Must be able to work from heights using ladders, lifts, platforms, etc

- Must be able to sit, stand and walk for up to 12 hours.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be capable of following all applicable safety standards and procedures
