032569 Lead Electro Mechanical Technician (Open)
A day in the role
You’ll kick off by prioritizing preventive maintenance, coordinating safe equipment start-ups, and consulting with operators to spot emerging issues. Midday might find you guiding a teardown to replace failed components, tuning a PLC program, or sketching a wiring diagram for a panel upgrade. You’ll wrap by validating work orders, documenting changes, and mentoring junior technicians—always with safety front and center.
What you’ll tackle
- Own the preventive maintenance program: inspect, clean, repair, and optimize equipment to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Perform safe start-up and shutdown procedures in line with operating requirements and company safety practices.
- Inspect and test electrical machinery and equipment; diagnose issues quickly and accurately.
- Lead complex tear-downs, inspections, and replacements of electrical machinery and defective components—ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Lay out, assemble, install, test, repair, and adjust electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment, and wiring, including panels and breakers.
- Lead installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial control systems, including instrumentation and power distribution.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs; maintain up-to-date program documentation.
- Review work orders for accuracy and completeness; revise as needed and collaborate with equipment operators to validate problems.
- Interpret manuals, diagrams, schematics, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders—and create the technical documentation needed for projects.
- Apply advanced electrical theory, statutory codes, and equipment operating principles; respond to any arc flash incidents to protect people and equipment.
- Mentor and advise Junior Technicians; introduce and reinforce new safety initiatives, rules, and processes.
- Ensure rigorous adherence to safety rules (live panel permits, arc flash practices, NEC codes, and other trade standards); champion company safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and experience
Typically possesses High School diploma (or equivalent) and 7 or more years of experience.

Compensation range
The pay range for this position is $28.80 - $49.09. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between $35.00 to $49.00. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
