Independent Family Law Attorney

Gregory Legal Group, LLC is a solo law practice based in Towson, Maryland, representing clients in family law and other civil matters. The firm is seeking a qualified Independent Family Law Attorney to assist with its growing family law caseload.

This is an opportunity for an attorney who is capable of independently managing assigned cases from beginning to end while maintaining the high level of professionalism and client service expected by the firm.

Position Responsibilities

The attorney will be responsible for handling assigned family law matters, including:

            •           Divorce

            •           Custody

            •           Child Support

            •           Visitation

            •           Contempt

            •           Protective Orders

            •           Peace Orders

            •           Guardianship

            •           Other related family law matters

Responsibilities include:

            •           Meeting with clients

            •           Evaluating legal issues and developing case strategy

            •           Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence

            •           Conducting discovery

            •           Negotiating settlements

            •           Appearing at hearings, settlement conferences, and trials

            •           Maintaining regular communication with clients

            •           Managing each assigned case through final resolution

            •           Maintaining accurate billing and time records.

Qualifications applicants must:

            •           Be admitted to practice law in Maryland and remain in good standing.

            •           Have family law litigation experience.

            •           Be able to independently manage a litigation caseload.

            •           Possess strong written and oral advocacy skills.

            •           Maintain excellent organizational and time-management skills.

            •           Maintain their own professional liability (malpractice) insurance.

            •           Have reliable transportation for court appearances throughout Maryland.

The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, responsiveness, and a commitment to providing excellent legal representation and client service.

Compensation

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position.

Compensation will be based on the firm’s Independent Contractor Compensation Structure.
