Title Clerk – Automotive Dealership
Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Title Clerk to join our automotive dealership team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with automotive title processing and be familiar with Reynolds & Reynolds software. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of all vehicle title and registration paperwork while maintaining compliance with state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process all new and used vehicle registrations for titling in the appropriate state.
- Prepare and submit tax, title, and registration documents to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
- Verify all necessary funds are collected and lien holders are paid prior to title submission.
- Check applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare payoff checks for traded or financed vehicles.
- Handle dealer trades and prepare Certificates of Origin.
- Maintain systems for verifying out-of-state titles and tracking outstanding title work.
- Provide regular reports to management and the comptroller regarding pending or problematic titles.
- Process and log all vehicle warranties and extended service contracts.
- Coordinate annual renewal of dealer tags with the comptroller.
- Stay up to date on title laws and attend relevant training or seminars.
- Cross-train and support team members in daily title operations.
- Conduct training sessions for sales and management teams on title regulations.
- Supervise title runner and delegate daily responsibilities.
- Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior automotive title experience preferred.
- Reynolds & Reynolds software experience highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check, MVR, drug test, and provide a valid driver’s license.
- Strong judgment and manual dexterity.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 8-hour shifts
- Occasional weekends as needed
