Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma required, some college preferred.
- Must have good interviewing, writing and communication skills.
- Must possess the ability to work with people from all socio economic backgrounds.
- Must have practical knowledge of personal computer programs.
- Must possess good organizational and time management skills.
- Must be available to work the hours assigned by the supervisor.
Job Duties:
- Work with the Pre-Trial Services Supervisor to carry out the goals of the program.
- Interview and assess defendants to determine their eligibility for court-appointed counsel.
- Work with the jail system, attorneys, and the courts to ensure the appointment process is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide the courts with information and documentation related to the appointment process is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate and concise records related to the appointment process.
- Maintain the computer system related to appointments to ensure a fair system and maintain written documentation related to attorneys assigned to the appointment wheel.
- Attend court, as needed, for the appointment of counsel.
- Supervise a caseload of defendants placed under PTS Supervision, maintain accurate case files, make monthly contacts, enforce conditions of PTS programs, collect program fees, make field contacts and provide
- information to the courts on matters concerning pretrial release.
- Perform drug testing as needed and assist with CSR project.
- Participate in Court hearings/dockets.
- Maintain Caseload of Pre-Trial cases.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor.
