Greer Companies has developed, owned and operated over 60 full service independent and national chain restaurants, and several fine casual eateries. It is also a franchisee and operator of multiple hotel chains including: Marriott, Hilton and InterContinental.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for being the first point of contact for creating the guest experience. This position will be responsible for processing operational needs, addressing guest requests, completing reports, or sharing the highlights of the local area, the Front Desk Agent makes transactions feel like part of the experience.
Core Work Activities
- Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning room, and issuing and activating room key.
- Process all payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit.
- Process all check-outs including resolving any late and disputed charges.
- Answer, record, and process guest calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping to track readiness of rooms for check-in.
- Communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors and dispatch bell staff or valet staff as needed.
- Supply guests with directions and information regarding property and local areas of interest.
- Run daily reports (number of arrivals, departures), identify any special requests, and check reports for accuracy.
- Complete designated cashier and closing reports in the computer systems.
Physical Activities and Requirements
- Frequently move and transport objects weighing less than or equal to 40 pounds without assistance and in excess of 40 pounds with assistance.
- Must stay in a stationary position and/or move for extended periods across an entire work shift.
- Constantly manipulates objects of varying size and weight.
- Frequently communicates and exchanges information with co-workers, including in environments with moderate noise levels.
Performs other duties as assigned and needed.
