Job Description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician II will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician II will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the facility.

Position Responsibilities - Essential

  • Perform both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting for repair of production equipment using basic hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical equipment
  • Perform assigned preventative and predictive maintenance assigned by supervision or management
  • Repair breakdowns and general service production equipment with the ability to quickly analyze, and correct mechanical and electrical issues associated with the general production equipment
  • Collect and assist with documentation of repair details, as directed by supervision or management
  • Prepare and set up equipment for production after repair; assist and instruct others when required
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production and facilities equipment
  • Troubleshoot failures and work in team environment to determine root causes of failure
  • Replace and repair parts, rebuild equipment, align gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) system to manage work orders, create and review work history, and manage parts use
  • Participate in plant shift meeting and continuous improvement activities
  • Execution of all duties with a safety-first mindset and approach
  • Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
  • Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position

Position Responsibilities - Non-Essential/Other

  • Develop, prepare, and present recommendations and reports as requested
  • Develop skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and/or hydraulic systems
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Essential Skills And Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required, post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate a plus
  • At least 5 years of experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair
  • Experience with PLC and CNC test equipment to include troubleshooting, repairs, PM’s, and other world-class maintenance measures
  • Experienced, preferably by formal training, in principles and standards for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment operations
  • Ability to comprehend both written and oral instructions
  • Ability to read and comprehend mechanical drawings, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports
  • Ability to use various types of measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, frequency meters, dial indicators, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume and automated environment, and have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new skills and apply the new skills to daily work tasks
  • Ability to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the job duties
  • Ability to operate powered lift equipment (forklift, wave picker, hoists, etc.)
  • Ability to lead team and delegate daily task
  • Possess strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly motivated, disciplined, problems-solver and troubleshooter
  • Strong ethics and ability to work in a team environment
  • Good mathematical skills to include basic algebra for calculation of electrical/electronic equations, as applicable
  • Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)

Beneficial Skills And Experience

  • Mechatronics degree preferred
  • Greater than 5 years of experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair
  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts preferred
