The Opportunity

The Center for Resiliency & Wellness Clinic Director is a transformational leader responsible for driving a high-performing, trauma-informed outpatient mental health clinic that prioritizes trust, accountability, innovation, and exceptional patient experience. This leader ensures the clinic operates on a strong growth trajectory while cultivating a team of highly qualified, compassionate professionals who are committed to clinical excellence and open to innovative approaches to care.

The Clinic Director will oversee daily operations of an Article 31 Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitative Services Program, while actively shaping a culture that balances clinical integrity, operational discipline, staff accountability, and forward-thinking practices such as clay therapy, play-based interventions, and modernized recruitment strategies (e.g., Zocdoc and other access points).

This role goes beyond traditional community-based clinic management. The Clinic Director is responsible for redefining expectations of care delivery - ensuring that every patient experiences a welcoming, dignified, and thoughtfully designed environment, supported by responsive customer service and a team deeply invested in patient success.

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain a culture of trust, accountability, and high performance. Model trauma-informed, patient-centered, and recovery-oriented care; recruit, develop, and retain a balanced team of clinicians and support staff; and promote a shift from minimum standards to exceptional care delivery.
  • Drive clinic growth through innovative programming, strong referral pipelines, and modern access strategies (e.g., Zocdoc, community partnerships). Expand services while maintaining quality and compliance, and integrate creative, evidence-informed approaches such as expressive therapies (e.g., clay therapy), play-based spaces, and afterschool transition supports.
  • Ensure a bright, welcoming, and professionally maintained environment that reflects dignity and respect. Set and uphold high standards for customer service, responsiveness, and patient engagement across all interactions.
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing, and workflows to ensure efficiency, coverage, and high-quality service delivery. Maintain accountability for productivity benchmarks, KPIs, and financial performance, and ensure compliance with OMH, NYS, and Federal regulations, including audit readiness and corrective actions.
  • Maintain a small caseload while providing leadership on complex cases. Ensure high-quality documentation, supervision, and adherence to best practices, supporting care for diverse populations with trauma histories, co-occurring disorders, and complex needs.
  • Provide structured, meaningful supervision and invest in staff development through training in innovative, evidence-based, and brief intervention models. Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and shared accountability.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Behavioral Health Services and collaborate with admissions, care coordination, and external partners to ensure seamless patient flow and continuity of care. Represent the clinic in internal and external forums to reinforce its reputation for innovation and excellence.

What You’ll Bring

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), LMSW, LMHC, plus four (4) years of clinical experience; supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading high-performing teams grounded in trust and accountability.
  • Strong commitment to trauma-informed care and innovative clinical practices.
  • Experience with or openness to non-traditional and creative therapeutic modalities (e.g., play therapy, expressive therapies).
  • Proven ability to drive program growth while maintaining quality and staff engagement.
  • Excellent communication, leadership presence, and decision-making skills.
  • Deep understanding of clinical documentation, compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to shift organizational mindset toward elevated care standards and patient experience.
  • Experience working across diverse populations and age groups.
