What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Arts Instructor (1 Hour Per Day) – Multiple Days Available position at Greenwich Dance Arts?
Overview
Greenwich Dance Arts is looking for energetic, reliable, and creative instructors to teach one-hour after-school enrichment classes at various elementary schools and community facilities throughout Connecticut and Westchester.
This is a traveling instructor position. We do not teach out of one studio or one permanent location. Instead, instructors are assigned to one or more partner schools or facilities based on their availability and the areas they are willing to travel.
Please note: Each class is only one hour long. We do not offer several consecutive hours of work in one afternoon. However, instructors are welcome to teach multiple afternoons per week and, in some cases, more than one class per day if scheduling and locations allow.
Classes begin between 3:00 PM and 3:35 PM and end between 4:00 PM and 4:35 PM. We are currently hiring both regular instructors and substitute instructors for Monday through Friday programs.
While many of our programs focus on the performing arts, we are always looking for instructors who can bring exciting new enrichment opportunities to our schools. We welcome applicants with experience teaching Dance, Hip-Hop, Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theater, Acting, Improv, Drama, Cheer, Tumbling, Acrobatics, Circus Arts, Yoga, Mindfulness, Music, Singing, Drumming, STEM, STEAM, Coding, Robotics, Science Experiments, Engineering Challenges, Art, Crafts, Photography, Animation, Comic Book Creation, Creative Writing, Chess, Cooking, Magic, Nature & Environmental Education, Fitness, Sports Skills, or any other unique talent or specialty that elementary-aged children would enjoy.
If you have a passion, hobby, professional experience, or special skill and would like to build a fun, engaging after-school class around it, we'd love to hear your ideas. We're always looking to introduce fresh and exciting enrichment programs that inspire creativity, confidence, curiosity, and—most importantly—FUN!
Our programs are held at schools and facilities in communities including Darien, Westport, Old Greenwich, Port Chester, Rye, Scarsdale, Eastchester, Mamaroneck, Mount Kisco, the Bronx, Yonkers, and surrounding areas as well as NYC. Because each class is only one hour in length, we strongly prefer applicants who live within approximately a 45-minute commute of the locations they are available to teach. When applying, please let us know which geographic areas you are willing to travel to.
