Duties
- Collect trash and recycling from residential units on assigned routes
- Transport waste to on-site dumpsters, compactors, or designated disposal areas
- Ensure all waste is handled safely and in accordance with community guidelines
- Follow scheduled service days and complete routes in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including breezeways, stairwells, and dumpster locations
- Report any issues such as bulk items, safety hazards, or maintenance concerns
- Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding route progress or challenges
- Use equipment such as carts, bins, or dollies when necessary to move materials
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous service to residents
Skills
- Ability to work independently and stay consistent with assigned routes
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying bags or containers (typically 25–50 lbs)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Reliable time management and punctuality
- Good communication skills for team coordination and reporting
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Experience in labor, delivery, warehouse, or service-based roles is a plus
- Familiarity with safety practices and proper waste handling procedures
