We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Container Delivery Driver to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office at 375 Industrial Rd., Watsonville, CA 95076 and limited job-related travel may be required.
Position Summary:
GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Container Delivery Driver to provide support to one or more facilities. This role will be tasked with driving and maintaining trucks that will be assigned to you, as well as working closely with our team of dispatchers in order to plan routes and track deliveries.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers.
- Load and unload cargo.
- Record cargo deliveries.
- Refuel and clean vehicle.
- Report road incidents to the dispatcher.
- Follow traffic laws.
- Inspect trucks and record issues.
- Follow accident procedures.
- Keep an activity log and log hours.
- Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.
- Plan routes using GPS system.
- Get goods to the client on time.
- Maintain a positive attitude with customers.
- Keep commercial driver license up to date.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of customers as well as management.
- Ability to work well with other employees in a team environment and communicate to ensure safety.
- Ability to operate collection vehicles used by the company.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
- Knowledge of relevant traffic laws, standard safety practices and applicable D.O.T. regulations.
- Great time management skills and the ability to work well with others.
Qualifications:
- Class A CDL or commercial driver license.
- Current TWIC card.
- Must pass drug and alcohol test.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must provide current MVR.
- Must provide a medical certificate.
- High school diploma.
Language Skill:
- Proficiency in English and/or Spanish
Physical Demands:
- Ability to physically push, pull and lift objects up to 75 lbs.
- Constant bending and twisting
- Frequent standing, walking and semi-frequent sitting
- Constant climbing in and out of equipment to grab carts
Work Environment:
Typical work week is Monday through Friday. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work in setting with frequent changes in equipment, start/end time, service city/town and routes based on the operational needs for the day and or week.
Compensation and Benefits:
Financial compensation will be commensurate with applicable experience.
