Water Treatment Plant Operator (PT-30)
Hourly Salary Range: $21.13 - $32.76 Anticipated Hiring Range: $21.13 - $26.95

Job Summary:
Permanent part-time position available for a responsible person to perform technical work in the operation of a 32 MGD Water Treatment Plant working a rotating shift schedule for 30 hours per week. Duties include monitoring plant and distribution system operations, performing laboratory tests, and interpreting data so as to effectively operate all equipment. Individual will utilize computer process control and monitoring systems, personal computers, and analytical equipment. College or Associate Degree in an Environmental Science field, as well as possession of a North Carolina Water Treatment Facility Operators Certification is highly desirable. Requirements include the availability to work shift work and a valid North Carolina driver’s license. Entry level status and starting salary will be commensurate with experience, education, and training. Requires “C” Surface Certification (within 18 months of employment). Work Schedule:
- Anticipated work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 7AM - 5PM.
- May be adjusted based on coverage needs of the plant.
This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
