Salary Range: $49,836.80 – $77,272.00
Anticipated Hiring Range: $49,836.80 – $63,564.80 (commensurate with skills and experience)
Brief Description
Under general supervision, performs apprentice and limited journeyman level duties in the construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution lines and electric substations; performs related work as required. (NOTE: This position works under the direct minimum supervision of an Electric Lineworker First Class and is restricted to work of 12,470 volts and less.)
Minimum Requirements
Over one year of experience
H.S. Diploma / GED
Valid Commercial Driver's License
Preferred
Power Line Technician Level I or Substation Technician Level I certification
Job Duties
Performs maintenance of substation equipment including power transformer, load tap changers, circuit switchers, circuit breakers, substation capacitor banks, group operated switches, hook operated switches, and ground grid
Utilizes various test equipment while performing substation maintenance on equipment and records test data
During new substation construction will install electrical bus work, outfitting of transformers, circuit breakers, install and aligning group operated switches
Assists with the maintenance and installation of electric generators.
Responds in the event of a release of transformer oil on the electric system and assist in the spill control, containment and clean-up of any spilled transformer oil and contaminated soil.
Performs other duties as required

Typical work schedule will be four 10-hour shifts. (Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday)
This is a DOT-regulated position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing per DOT guidelines.
