What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Relationship Banker position at Greenville Federal?
The Lead Relationship Banker is responsible for assisting new and existing Greenville Federal customers with opening new products, servicing accounts, and supporting daily branch operations. This role serves as the primary resource for Relationship Bankers and Tellers, providing guidance, training, and leadership support in partnership with branch management.
A key focus of this position is identifying customer needs, cross-selling appropriate products and services, and ensuring accurate, efficient transaction processing. The Lead Relationship Banker acts as a role model for service excellence, operational accuracy, and sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
- Lead the Banking Center Team in supporting management with all aspects of Relationship Banker operations.
- Train new Relationship Bankers and Tellers on systems, procedures, compliance requirements, and service standards.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for team members’ questions.
- Provide coverage for Branch Management in their absence.
- Promote a positive, professional team environment and lead by example.
Customer Service & Account Management
- Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone; serve as a positive role model for team members.
- Interview new customers and open new deposit accounts and related products.
- Explain available Greenville Federal products and services clearly and accurately.
- Gather and verify customer information to process new and existing accounts.
- Maintain knowledge of IRA and HSA products and assist customers with related inquiries and account openings.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges, and account histories in compliance with disclosure requirements, regulations, and privacy policies.
- Handle customer concerns, complaints, and special requests professionally.
Sales & Business Development
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell products and services to generate new business.
- Recognize and refer customers with consumer, mortgage, or commercial loan needs.
- Meet individual sales goals and contribute to overall banking center cross-sales goals.
- Support efforts to retain and grow existing customer relationships.
Teller & Operational Support
- Serve as back-up teller, accurately processing deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
- Assist customers with credit card products and application processes.
- Ensure vault and ATM machines are balanced and adequately supplied daily.
- Maintain knowledge of ATM operations and perform routine maintenance if required.
- Complete ABA Learning Center courses as assigned by management.
- Understand and comply with CTR filing requirements, including when and how to complete filings.
- Adhere to Greenville Federal’s Security Policy and Procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of all retail and business products, including onboarding and offboarding processes.
