What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Assistant position at Greenon Local Schools?
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School graduate: college or technical training preferred.
2. High moral character, and good attendance record.
3. Possess considerable knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools, equipment, materials, and
supplies used in technology maintenance.
4. Capable of troubleshooting and performing skilled technology and electronic maintenance repairs.
5. Has a solid understanding of basic computer and software installation on Apple, Microsoft, Google,
and other types of computers/Chromebooks and computing devices.
6. Capable of installation of wired and wireless networking and network components and devices.
7. Understands computer internal components.
8. Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair basic computer and peripheral problems.
9. Ability to learn new technologies and participate in their implementation within the district.
10. Possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license; have and maintain a good driving record and have own
transportation available to be used within the district.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Always maintains respect for confidential information, including student record information.
2. Diagnose and repair technology equipment and peripherals including but not limited to: computers,
iPads, monitors, printers, internal components including circuit boards and drives, networking
equipment, presentation, and other audiovisual equipment or systems including but not limited to the
video surveillance system.
3. Install technology equipment and software as directed by the Director of Technology.
4. Install data network wiring.
5. Clean printers, projectors, computer drives and cases, and all other technology components as
directed by the Director of Technology.
6. Work with Director of Technology and vendors on technology related projects within the Greenon
Local School District.
7. Accepts the responsibility for the care, condition, appearance, repair, or replacement of all
technological equipment.
8. Assists in establishing, maintaining, and carrying out a preventative and corrective maintenance,
recycling, and purchasing program for technology equipment, devices, platforms, and software.
Conducts periodic inspections of the buildings and equipment to determine areas of needed repair.
9. Recommends purchase of necessary parts for repairs to the Director of Technology.
10. Assists in transporting technology equipment, and supplies as needed, throughout the District.
11. May be required to work flexible hours subject to call in and/or perform various tasks necessary
under emergency conditions.
12. Assists in the development of District technology records to include oral and written reports as
required.
13. Works cooperatively with co-workers and administrative personnel with respect to maintenance of
technology program.
14. Assists, as directed by Director of Technology, with technology-related investigations involving staff
and student misconduct, and maintains confidentiality with respect to same.
15. Demonstrates the ability to file reports, communicate effectively, and keep accurate records.
