Summary

A Senior Batch Compounder Mixer leads the preparation batches of raw materials for production processing according to specifications and established procedures. Obtains materials from inventory and utilizes scales or automated equipment to accurately weight.

Responsibilities

• Blend custom orders within specified due date.
• Custom blend various orders within specific order guidelines (i.e., color, gloss, viscosity).
• Manage batch size within /- 10% to order size.
• Follow all safety practices as outlined.
• Maintain clean work area as outlined.
• Follow Waste Minimization Plan as outlined.
• Follow PSR Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Follow Hazardous Material Handling Procedures.
• Pre-batch blends and stage products for blended orders.
• Prepare spray-outs and draw-down test panels.
• Assist in preparation of customer orders, including filling and labeling batches as directed.
• Clean and repair store equipment.
• Identify equipment problems and make recommendations.
• Operate all material handling, mixing, and testing equipment in a safe manner.
• Properly store all partial containers to correct inventory location.
• Provide input regarding inventory levels in the warehouse/stockroom.
• Identify potential obsolete/damaged material and handle per established policy/procedures.
• Maintain facility to company standards through proper maintenance, repair, and housekeeping.
• Identify facility problems and make recommendations.
• Assist in the daily cleanup of tank farm and equipment.
• Follow designated loss prevention, security, and safety practices according to policy and correct or report non-compliance of appropriate procedures/policies.
• Perform titration testing to meet requirements set forth by QA.
• Fill out operator logs.
• Make visual check of ingredients mixing to ensure proper uniform mix.
• Set up and disassemble pipes.
• Take immediate action to contain spillage using hazardous material containment procedures as outlined in the Work Safe Manual, including proper and timely reporting.
• Assist with general warehouse, delivery and customer service duties as needed, including loading, and unloading of material, and waiting on customers.
• Know stock limits and be familiar with stock order procedure.
• Assist with physical inventory.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work both on a team and individually
• Requires good decision-making skills
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions or work direction

Credentials/ Experience:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1 year of Production/Packaging experience.

Physical Demands:

• Shifts range from 8-10 hours.
• Ability to regularly sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-100 pounds.

Work Environment:

• May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
• May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
• Work surfaces may include concrete.
• Must wear safety shoes, PPE, and comply with all GMP requirements
• Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-100 pounds.
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
• Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
• May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
