Position Summary:

The Chiller Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring chiller systems used to rapidly cool food products in a safe and efficient manner. This role ensures products meet required temperature and food safety standards while supporting overall production flow.

Key Responsibilities of the Machine Operator / Chiller Operator

• Operate and monitor chiller equipment to ensure proper cooling of products
• Verify product temperatures meet food safety and quality standards
• Load and unload product into chillers following production schedules
• Monitor cycle times, temperatures, and equipment performance
• Accurately record temperatures, times, and production data
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and company food safety standards
• Perform routine equipment checks and report any malfunctions or deviations
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of chiller areas and equipment
• Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure smooth operations
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times

Qualifications of the Machine Operator / Chiller Operator

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–2 years of experience in food manufacturing or similar environment preferred
• Experience operating industrial equipment or chillers is a plus
• Basic understanding of food safety practices (HACCP, GMPs)
• Ability to read and record temperature logs accurately
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in cold environments for extended periods
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production setting

• Flexible to work 2nd shift, including weekends and overtime as needed
