Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Derrick Hand to join our team in the oil and gas industry. The Derrick Hand plays a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of a workover rig, ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally while adhering to safety protocols. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Duties
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment on the rig.
- Assist in the work over process by managing derrick/floor operations and rigging activities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety standards on the construction site.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on well service equipment.
- Collaborate with the crew to execute workover operations efficiently.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on-site.
Requirements
- Previous experience working on an oil rig or in the oil & gas industry is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment.
- Experience with rigging techniques and safety practices related to lifting operations.
- Valid commercial driving license (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to work long hours in challenging weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety.
