Job Description
- Perform high-level hand soldering of SMT components, troubleshooting electronic assemblies, and ensuring all repairs meet quality and functional standards.
- Perform manual soldering and desoldering on SMT components.
- Rework defects such as solder bridges, cold joints, lifted pads, damaged traces, and missing.
- Handle fine-pitch parts, ICs, and micro-components with extreme accuracy.
- Inspect solder joints and component placement under a microscope or magnifier.
- Ensure assemblies meet IPC Class 2 or 3 standards and company quality guidelines.
- Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment to verify functionality.
- Follow defined troubleshooting guides and test procedures to diagnose issues down to the component level.
- Record repair data, test results, and root-cause findings in company systems.
- Communicate recurring issues with engineering, production, and quality teams.
- Support continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain a clean, organized ESD-controlled workstation.
- Follow grounding procedures and proper handling of sensitive electronic components.
- Excellent manual dexterity, magnified work, and strict adherence to ESD and safety procedures.
- Micro-soldering experience
- Knowledge of IPC J-STD—001
- Surface mount technology
- Exceptional hand-eye coordination with attention to detail.
- Associate or higher degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Handle fine-pitch parts, ICs, and micro-components with extreme accuracy.
- Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment to verify functionality.
