Key Responsibilities
- Safely administer medications (oral, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and otic) in accordance with physician orders and state regulations
- Monitor, observe, and report medication effects, side effects, and changes in resident condition
- Accurately document medication administration, refusals, and withheld doses in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Communicate effectively with LPNs, RNs, and care team
- Ensure compliance with Indiana state regulations, assisted living standards, and infection control protocols
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care in a long-term care / assisted living environment
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Active Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) certification – Indiana
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification – Indiana
- Completion of a state-approved medication administration course
- Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or senior care preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration, EMR documentation, and healthcare equipment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to provide compassionate care to seniors and work in a team-oriented environment
