Responsibilities
- Lead community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about food security and nutrition programs
- Organize and facilitate workshops, cooking demonstrations, and educational events tailored to diverse audiences
- Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups to expand program reach and effectiveness
- Manage volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, and recognition efforts to ensure a motivated team
- Develop marketing materials and utilize social media platforms to promote events and share success stories
- Collect data on program participation and outcomes to evaluate impact and inform future strategies
- Provide culturally sensitive support and guidance to individuals from underserved communities seeking food resources or health information
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in volunteer management, community outreach or grassroots organizing
- Supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and lead teams of volunteers or staff
- Public speaking and presentation abilities for engaging diverse audiences effectively
- Program development experience including planning, implementation, and evaluation of community initiatives
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure
- Experience in marketing strategies, social media management, and data collection tools
- Knowledge of public health principles, social work practices, or addiction counseling is a plus
- Experience working with culturally diverse populations or underserved communities is highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills combined with written communication for reports and outreach materials
- Ability to work collaboratively with community partners while demonstrating leadership qualities
