Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform echocardiograms, including transthoracic and transesophageal procedures, to evaluate cardiac function
- Prepare patients for exams by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout the process
- Utilize advanced imaging equipment to capture clear and accurate cardiac images
- Analyze and interpret echocardiographic data, documenting findings for physician review
- Work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records and adhere to safety protocols
- Completion of a cardiorespiratory or ultrasound technology program, or equivalent training
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification is required
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- U.S. Citizenship required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required (AHA-approved)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required (AHA-approved)
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) - Required
- Accepted certifying bodies: ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
- Education: Preferred but not required: Graduate of an accredited Echocardiography or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Equivalent combination of education, training, and clinical experience is acceptable
