Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Aide to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, and other care needs in various settings such as retirement homes, group homes, and Assisted living homes. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of individuals in your care.
- Help with meal preparation and ensure that dietary needs are met.
- Support clients in participating in recreational activities and social interactions.
- Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate staff or family members.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by following established protocols and procedures.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records as required by the facility or organization.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on compassion and empathy.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing high-quality care.
