The Opportunity
This is a pivotal leadership role at a moment of execution and growth. The Executive Director will be responsible for advancing the organization’s mission and strategy and expanding Green Umbrella’s influence across the climate ecosystem.
This role requires a thoughtful balance of internal leadership and external engagement, bringing clarity to priorities, leading fundraising efforts, supporting a high-performing team, and building strong relationships with funders, partners, policymakers, and community stakeholders. This leader will also be responsible for preserving and strengthening the values-driven culture that defines Green Umbrella.
The Executive Director will partner closely with the Board to guide key decisions and will have the opportunity to assess and evolve organizational practices to ensure long-term sustainability and impact.
Key Priorities
- Lead execution of Green Umbrella’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment, focus, and measurable outcomes.
- Strengthen financial sustainability through fundraising, donor engagement, and revenue diversification.

Work Environment
This role operates within a hybrid work environment based in Greater Cincinnati, with regular in-person engagement across the region. Green Umbrella currently maintains a four-day work week as part of its operating model. The Executive Director will have the opportunity to assess and evolve organizational policies and practices in partnership with the Board.
Compensation
Salary range: $100,000 - $120,000, commensurate with experience, along with a competitive benefits package.
