Duties
- Safely operate passenger vans, shuttle buses, or personal vehicles to transport patients and clients on local routes
- Follow GPS navigation systems to ensure timely and efficient pickups and drop-offs
- Assist passengers with mobility needs, including heavy lifting or manual handling when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of vehicles to ensure safety and reliability
- Communicate effectively with clients, healthcare facilities, and dispatch teams to coordinate schedules and address any concerns
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and company policies during all driving activities
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and report any vehicle issues promptly to ensure safety standards are met
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, shuttle driver, or chauffeur driving passenger vehicles such as vans or limousines
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating passenger vans or heavy-duty vehicles preferred
- Knowledge of GPS navigation tools and local driving routes for efficient route planning
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to perform heavy lifting or manual handling tasks safely when assisting passengers or loading equipment
- Familiarity with medical transportation protocols, including adherence to health and safety standards
- Understanding of local traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and vehicle maintenance procedures
