Duties
- Greet guests warmly with enthusiasm and genuine friendliness, establishing a positive first impression
- Manage guest seating arrangements efficiently, balancing reservations and walk-in arrivals to minimize wait times
- Communicate clearly with guests regarding wait times, menu options, and special events using excellent phone etiquette
- Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth flow of service and guest satisfaction
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve concerns promptly with professionalism and a positive attitude
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to process reservations, takeout orders, or billing transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness of host station and waiting areas, ensuring a welcoming environment at all times
Experience
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in a fast-paced food service or restaurant environment is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and management
- Familiarity with POS systems and taking orders
- Experience in hotel or guest services roles enhances understanding of hospitality standards
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive demeanor under pressure
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, serving etiquette, and guest relations practices is highly valued
